Leviticus 19:18 ' Thou shalt not avenge,nor bear a grudge against the children of thy people,but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself : I am the Lord.' A grudge is a long standing resentment that carries with it feelings of spite , bitterness and a mean attitude.Grudges have a way of oozing ill will infecting relationships with guilt,anger and envy.A grudge will kill your joy,rob your peace with God,hinder your prayer life and will make you a poisonous person to be around.People will avoid you !!That grudge will consume you!It is a sinful attitude that is the opposite of agape love and must be repented of and rooted out ! Being near a person with a grudge is like petting a growling dog ! The resentful person does nor bubble over with joy they bubble over with anger.A person with a grudge and an angry dog are a lot alike.Both are irritable,explosive and ready to bite !!

Do you have a forgiving spirit ?If you don't do not expect answers to your prayers.If you nurse a grudge and a harsh bitter attitude it will kill your fellowship with the Lord ! ARE YOU A BITTER PERSON ?THE POISONOUS SIN OF BITTERNESS !!
Ephesians 4:31'Let all bitterness ,and wrath,and anger,and clamor and evil speaking ,be put away from you with all malice.'
The Greek word for bitterness is pikria which means,'animosity ,resentfulness,harshness, an irritable state of mind that makes a person unloving ,sour and crabby and repulsive in his general demeanor.A bitter person may scowl and infuse venom into the words he says.'
Bitterness is spiritual poison and is very deadly ! Bitter people have a poisonous frame of mind that cause them to brood and blame others for their problems ! They become very moody and mean and have no love ,peace and joy in their lives ! THE RESENTFUL HEART IS UNHAPPY AND UNHOLY AND UNFORGIVING.
Bitterness opens the door to the devil and will kill your spiritual life and grieve the Holy Spirit ! An unforgiving bitter spirit is the devils playground.Bitterness opens the door to:
1.Wrath- 'Bursts of rage ,violent passions,temper tantrums.'
2.Anger-''Grouchiness ,anger that boils over and seeks revenge and is hostile.'
3.Clamor-'Loud outcries of anger,bickering ,shouting ,and quarreling.'
4.Evil Speaking-'Slander ,abusive language,insulting speech.'
5.Malice-'Wishing evil on others ,spiteful , being mean and hateful.'
These awful wicked sins must be repented of and forsaken at once.If not these sins can destroy you , your marriage ,your friendships ,cause division in a church ,have a terrible affect on children and siblings and you cannot walk with a holy God with a bitter spirit ! Do not delay repentance and seek the forgiveness of the Lord right now as you read this post !
Hebrews 12:15'Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God,lest a root of bitterness springing up trouble you ,and thereby many be defiled.'
Bitterness is so dangerous and can get deeply rooted in your soul where it grows and spreads and contaminates others and defiles them ! No excuse to harbor hurt feelings and to nurse a bitter grudge .If mistreated forgive ! Do not murmur but kill this infectious spiritual disease now ! Left unchecked bitterness can eat its way deep into your mind and heart turning you into a very ugly harsh unforgiving hardened person.Do not allow resentment to fester ! It is toxic ! Forgiveness is the antidote to this poison !IT LIFTS THE BURDEN AND FREES YOU FROM THE CHAINS OF BITTERNESS !
