Today's thought: Colossians 3:2 says, "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth."

Today's thought: Colossians 3:2 says, "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth."

Todays thought: Many times throughout our lives, we go out searching for things of this world that we think are going to be amazing, make us happy and will fill a void that we somewhat feel. We go out chasing material things, fame, fortune ( we all have at times thought money would fix everything) , relationships, and so many other things but in the end we realize that wasn't what we were really looking for. We just knew that something was missing.

In my past I worked extremely hard for some of the same things but came to a point that the void that was in my life wasn't something. It was someone and that someone was Jesus Christ. Colossians 3:2 says, "Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth." When you truly turn your mind and your actions toward God your perspective on the things of this world are put into order. You gain a peace about yourself that you have never experienced before. The things you focus on are changed and your mind is made anew and redirected. Joy and Peace begins to fill your heart and begins to spread to others. As Phil Robertson would say it makes you "Happy, Happy, Happy!!"

I know from experience that God changed my attitude toward life and changed my way of thinking. Yes there are times that I still fail but I'm quickly redirected to the path God has for me. If today you feel the world is getting in the way of your relationship with God, and if it's affecting the way you feel or act, take a moment to say a prayer and ask God to redirect your thoughts. Ask him to help realign your mind and your actions with his. God has great plans for each of us and when we allow him to lead we won't be disappointed... Have a great day and God bless!!
